Water Softener Installation
Water source can naturally pick up various particles including calcium and magnesium as it travels to the ground. These minerals can harden the water and it can wreak havoc when it reaches modern homes. High concentration of these minerals in water can build up in pipes and clog it, ruin appliances, leave soap scums around your shower room and it can make your hair and skin dry.
How does it work?
A water softener installation is necessary to condition the water, making it soft and safe for households to use. This whole-house filtration system can strip off calcium and magnesium from the water by a process called ion exchange. As the water flows inside a mineral tank, the water streams through a bed of resin beads. These beads are made of polystyrene and are charged with sodium ions. The ions of the resin beads and the minerals have opposite charges. Thus, they tend to attract each other. As the hard water rushes through the beads, it seizes the mineral's ions, releases the sodium ions and eliminates calcium and magnesium from the water. Finally, at the end of the process, soft, high quality water flows into your home.
